Miss Universe 2013

As Miss World and Miss Universe(MU) is also an international show. If we compare Miss Universe with other international events like Miss World, Miss Earth and Miss International, then Miss Universe is on fourth no. The first time the Miss Universe was held in 1952 by the California Company.

The show was broadcast on NBC in U.S.A. in 1998 the headquarter change their location from California to New York City also modify the name from “Miss Universe” to “Miss Universe Organization”. The logo of Miss Universe(MU) “the woman with star” represents the beauty of woman and responsibility of women on this universe.

Now in 2013 Gabriela Isler from Venezuela is Miss Universe(MU) and she has got this title on 9 November 2013 in Moscow, Russia. And according to rules Miss World(MU) has to live in New York during her reign. The winner also has to work for an organization. She spread the message about the piece, awareness about the disease, especially Aids.

At the start, this show is the part of “international pageant of pulchritude” that was launched in 1926. And with the passage of time these international events ended and then Pacific Mills (a Californian company of clothing) founded Miss Universe(MU) in 1952. With the passage of time, the pageant becomes the part of Kayser-Roth and Gulf Western Industries in 1966.

Compaction Format

  • From 1965 the semifinalist was not announced before the main event. The semifinals compete in evening dress and swim suit. In the end, five contestants were selected for final. And then interview decide the winner and runner-up that was introduced in 1960.
  • From 1959 to 1964 format of selecting the winner was change a little. Five finalists were not selected true winner and runner up selected from 15 semifinals.
  • In 1965 Miss Universe returned its first format to select five finalists.
  • In 1969 last final contestant was asked question on the on-and-off format
  • In 1990 every last candidate had to answer a final question.
  • In 2000 the format change and the interview were skipped. The consented only compete by swimsuit and nightgowns
  • In 2003 the questions were asked by the final contest and the winner selected.
  • In 2006 again the interview part was included in the compaction.
  • In 2011 the winner was selected by online voting.
