The drink

Golden milk is very simple. I use the ginger for flavor. If you have fresh ginger or turmeric, by all means, use those, but it reprocesses them. I would incline to stain them and use them in a new consignment of tea.


  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 teaspoon dried turmeric, turmeric thinly sliced or diced
  • 1 teaspoon dried ginger sliced or diced
  • 1 sprinkle of black pepper
  • Honey of taste

Add milk in a saucepan, heat over medium high heat. Add ginger, pepper and turmeric. Stir well if you are using the dried spices. Allow the milk begins to simmer until small bubbles will form on the sides of the saucepan, stir well.

Let to heat for one or two additional minutes being careful not to allow the milk overheat. Continue to toss at this point to get better heat distribution and so that you don’t end up distracted in your kitchen and finished with boiled in your burner pans.

Remove from the heat, cover and let to sit for ten minutes. Drain the milk with the strainer if you have used fresh ingredients. Now add honey to taste if you like. Serve warm.
