- 4 Tbsp. Vegetable oil divided
- 2 cups shelled walnuts, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup pomegranate syrup
- 2 cups of water, plus more if needed
- 1 large onion, peeled, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp. turmeric
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, rinsed, cut into 1-inch chunks
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Dash of cinnamon
- 2-3 Tbsp. sugar
- Cooked basmati rice, for serving

In a small skillet, add two tablespoon oil, heat, over medium heat. Cook the walnuts until lightly golden, occasionally stirring, for about 5 minutes. Add pomegranates juice and 2 cups of water. Mix well and boiled for 30-40 minutes over medium-low heat.
Another heavy bottomed skillet, heat 2 tbsp. Oil on medium heat. Add onions and cook until onions are translucent and golden brown, for 10-15 minutes. Add turmeric and combine well.
Add chicken pieces into the large skillet with the onions and sauté one side until well brown. Add season salt, pepper, a dash of cinnamon and mix so that the chicken is covered. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, cover, and simmer for two hours, frequently stirring, until the sauce has rich, creamy consistency. Add one tablespoon sugar at a time. Mix well. Add more sugar to taste. You Serve it hot or with rice.
