This is very easy and quick recipe for making fresh homemade limmonada, lemonade or limeade.
Serve: 6 to 8 people
- 2 limes or lemons, quartered and any seeds removed
- 8 cups of cold water
- Approximately ½ cup of sugar, more or less based on your preference
- Ice cubes as desired and lemon/lime slices to garnish

Add the limes quartered in the blender with 4 cups water and sugar. Blend until the lime is fully mixed. The mixture should be slightly foamy with a whitish color. Drain the mixture through a strainer and add remaining water through the strainer. Serve with ice cubes.

This is straightforward and refreshing liquid fruit salad made with papaya, banana, orange and pineapple juice. It is a rich source of all vitamins, minerals, protein’s and potassium.

- 10 oranges, juiced, about 4 ½ cups of juice
- 1 large papaya, peeled, seeded and diced
- 1 pineapple, peeled, cored and diced
- 6 bananas, peeled and diced
- Sugar or honey to taste

In a large bowl, add pineapple, papaya and banana slices and combine well. Mix in the freshly squeezed orange juice and add sugar or honey if you needed. Allow to rest for 30 minutes for the chill. After 30 minutes serve and enjoy with tropical fruit salad.

Colada de Avena Oatmeal drink
Colada de Avena Oatmeal drink is appetizing drink, and it is made with oats, naranjilla fruits, panela or brown sugar, water and cinnamon. Colada can be served cold on warm days or warm through cold days.
Serve: 6 to 8 people
- ¾ cup raw oats plus 1 cup water
- About 6 cups water, more or less based on how thick you want it
- 3-4 cinnamon sticks
- 5-6 fresh or whole frozen naranjillas or 14 oz frozen naranjilla pulp
- ½ to ¾ lb panela or piloncillo grated or in chunks – if you can’t find panels replace with brown sugar

Immerse the oats in 1 cup of water. Cut the naranjillas in half and scoop out the flesh, then add the flesh into the blender and blend until a smooth pure in obtained.
In a medium saucepan add 6 cups of water and half of the naranjilla pure, the cinnamon sticks, and the panela, bring to boil, reduce the heat and cooked for about 30 minutes.
Remove from the heat and set aside for cool until safe to handle, at this situations drain the mixture. Blend 2 cups of this mixture with the soaked oats and the remaining naranjilla puree.
Strain the blended oat mixture and pour it over the strained naranjilla mixture in a saucepan, combine well and bring to boil on medium-low heat. Stirring frequently, simmer until it thickens and loses the raw oat flavor, for about 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat and drain if need. Serve warm for breakfast on cold days and cold with ice on sunny days.

Chicha pineapple drink
Chichi pineapple is a spicy drink made by boiling the pineapple skins and core with hard brown sugar and spices. It is the perfect drink for a hot afternoon.
Makes: 2.5 liters
- The leftovers (skins and core) of 1 pineapple
- 500 g unrefined cane sugar
- cinnamon sticks, allspice, cloves, anise, to taste
- 500l of pineapple juice

In a medium pressure cooker or large saucepan, combine all the ingredients from the pineapple juice with 2 liters of water and bring to boil for 20 minutes in the pressure cooker or and if you use pan then cook for 1 hour.
Remove and set aside for cool down. Before serving, add 500-mile litter juice of pineapple. Serve with ice and sparkling water to taste.
