His real name is Mohombi Nzasi Moupondo now he is known as Mohombi. He was born on 17 October 1986. He spent his childhood in Kista near Stockholm. Mohombi mother was a Swedish woman, and his father was Congolese man. Elevated as a child in the Congo, Mohombi, and his family fugitive the war and torn country for Stockholm, Sweden in 1999 when Mohombi was 12. Mohombi has 14 siblings. He is a Swedish-Congolese R & B singer-songwriter and dancer.
At starting stage Mohombi took music only as a part-time job, and looking for something more Mohombi supervised to L.A. for a solo career. Then his parents regularly uncovered him to various musical inspirations from early on in his childhood. So that’s why Mohombi soon developed his passion for song. Mohombi studied at Rytmus Music High School in Stockholm and prepared his stage inauguration at seventeen in the Swedish revitalization production of the cult show Wild Side Story. He followed his studies and achieved his bachelor’s degree in music and song from Stockholm’s Music Conservatory. He is a very brilliant human, and he can speak Swedish, French, English and Lingala.

First Achievement

At the start of his career, Mohombi worked with his brother. In Stockholm Mohombi and his brother Djo Moupondo, a local club DJ known as DJ Djo formed the group Avalon joining the dancehall and hip hop of the time with the different African beats on which they were elevated. The group sold over half a million records from 2004 to 2008 and won the All African Kora Awards, an African comparable of the Grammy for the type of Best Group – Diaspora Europe or Caribbean category, while Mohombi became a prolific songwriter in his right. Then the real life of Mohombi as an energetic singer started.

From the war-perforated countryside of Congo to the environs of Stockholm, singer-songwriter and Mohombi dreams to make it in the music business have come true.
The year 2004 to 2008 Mohombi was part of the Swedish hip hop group Avalon with his brother Djo Moupondo. Mohombi is Red One’s first signing to 2101 Records in the joint project with Universal Music Group.

Mohombi cooperated with Swedish rapper Lazee on “Do It”, which was released in Sweden on 31 May 2010. It debuted at number nine on the Swedish Singles Chart. In Los Angeles Mohombi was introduced through friends to producer RedOne, whose own background is Swedish-Moroccan. Mohombi released “Miss Me” as his debut single in the United Kingdom on 31 October 2010. It features American singer Nelly.

The singer’s debut single, “Bumpy Ride” is the first release on Red One’s label 2101 Records, a joint gamble with Universal. It was published in the United States on 24 August 2010.The single became a top-ten hit in many European countries and was followed by his debut studio album, Move Meant in February 2011.

His third single called “Dirty Situation” was released in Europe on 11 November and features R & B singer Akon. “Dirty Situation” is played at the opening and then again later on in the middle of the music video for “Miss Me.

Move Meant was released in Europe Monday 28 February 2011 and in the US by the end of 2011. Mohombi features on track “Hula hoop” of the 2011 release of Stella Mwangi album “Kinanda”. Mohombi single, “Coconut Tree” features Nicole Scherzinger.

2011 to present: Second Studio Album: On September 2, 2011, Mohombi released another single called “Maraca” on iTunes in Sweden. Mohombi also recorded the song “Suave (Kiss Me)” with Nayer & Pitbull. He was also designated for Best Swedish Act at the 2011 European Music Awards in Belfast. On December 16, 2011, he appeared as musical guest on The Voice of Romania. His music career with the passage of time taking a good carve and making him be one of the best singer ever seen.
